BJD Hybrid: Doll Chateau & Peak's Woods

A few years ago, I tracked down a Doll Chateau Y-03 body in normal pink skin to make a hybrid BJD with a Peak’s Woods normal skin FOC head. At this point, I have more than one floating Peak’s Woods head for my Doll Chateau body and decided to try swapping heads out. In this post, I used a relatively new Elf Tristan head with a wonderful faceup from HHortusConclususs on Etsy. The head is quite a bit more pink than the body, but I will mellow it out if I decide I like the combo. My other older Peak’s Woods head work much better with the body since they have the aged resin color. I blushed the body to make the resin color difference less noticeable. I also took out the extra joints in the neck and wrists to make the doll a little more realistic.

Larger Doll Chateau bodies are so fun because the fingers and toes are articulated.

I swapped out a few wigs and eyes in this photo shoot. Which is your fav? The light blue eyes seem so vibrant in the head and really pop in the photos. It’s hard for me to decide between the purple or blonde wig.

This poor girl only has the one dress I made shortly after I received the body. I think it is time for an update in wardrobe. Maybe something lacy? We’ll see.

Peak's Woods Lady Bee for Sale

It is time to part with some dolly things and start some new projects.  What's up for sale?  A Peak's Woods Lady Bee with normal skin resin.  She comes with her original box and pillows.  I am not sure who did the faceup.  She has the old Peak's Wood Fairy of Bugs (FOB) body, not the newer version.  She doesn't seem to have any damage or abnormal yellowing.  I am not sure when she was made.  Unfortunately, I do not have her CoA, but I picked her up at a doll show last year from batchix and I always try to buy with confidence that an item is legit.  I'm an anti-recast collector.  Even so, she is priced to reflect the lack of CoA in hand.  She is $185 plus shipping from the USA.

Dolly Bureau Volume 3: Wig Tutorial

In Dolly Bureau volume 3, there are lots of craft tutorials for tiny dolls.  The photo above is from the book of a ball-jointed doll named Sugar Powder from Peak's Woods.  She is a part of their Monthly Fairy line.  In the book, there is a tutorial on how to make tiny doll wings!  There are a couple templates in the book for different wing options.  Interested in trying it?  Pick up a copy of the book here.

Long Dress for MSDs and Ellowyne Wilde

This new pattern combines a whole lot of things I love -- white eyelet fabric, lace, long dresses, ribbon, and my new KoonieS.  As some of you may know, I have a few Peak's Woods dolls, but I was glad to add KoonieS to the family. 

The dress pictured is a pattern available in my Etsy shop.  I am trying to put out quite a few more digital patterns in the near future, so stay tuned for plenty more dolly sewing options in the weeks to come.

Peak's Woods Doll for Sale

Up for sale is a tan skinned Cheshire Goon from Peak's Woods.  He was made in 2012 and comes with a Peak's Woods face-up.  He is in great condition, only taken out of the box briefly a couple of times.  He is $350/OBO.
