Polly Pocket Out of Sight Campsite Compact

It’s ANOTHER Polly Pocket post! This time we have a cute compact with a camping theme. Shani packed up her gear to go camping with her telescope, campfire stove, and first aid kit. Inside the compact is a tent that folds down to reveal her sleeping bag and inner tent arrangement. There is also a camp fire on the bottom portion of the compact. I like that the folding tent can act as a storage place for tiny items. However, like most of these new Polly Pocket compacts, I have found that getting all the little tiny pieces into the compact and shutting it can be a problem. I’m an adult and it feels like a tiny frustrating puzzle to shove everything inside just right. The camp stove also leans to one side since one leg is a little uneven compared to the others.

Well, the tent makes this one a winner for me. I was at a big box store recently and spotted a tiny artist set that looked super fun, too. Should I go for more or get back to dolly designs? ;)

Polly Pocket Tiny Pocket Size Picnic Compact

Here’s another round of Polly Pocket fun. This time we have Polly in a picnic setting with her dog Peaches. I had to bend one of the doggy’s legs a bit to get her to stand properly. The compact has a cooler that opens. There is a separate picnic basket that opens as well. Her skateboard has working wheels of sorts. She has the sticky feet, which keep her on the skateboard quite well. Her scooter is attached to the compact and isn’t the best design. Polly cannot easily fit on the scooter while in the compact, but if you remove the scooter from the compact, it will not stand on it’s own.

All in all, not my fav compact thus far, but still fun. My personal choice to date has been the little fashion designer in this post. Stay tuned for one more Polly Pocket compact I’ll be photographing soon!

Polly Pocket Fiercely Fab Studio Compact

Earlier in the week I had time to open up another one of these tiny gems. This one might be closer to my heart since it appears we have a little fashion designer. She comes with a compact set up as a sewing studio, hook for the compact, sewing case (opens), standing mirror, and chair. The compact has a desk with sewing machine and closet. Her desk also has a little cupboard that opens. It’s quite cute!

As I mentioned in the previous post, the legs of these dolls are flexible like Gumby. They are much smaller than other previous versions of Mattel Polly Pocket dolls.

Polly Pocket Teeny Boppin' Concert Compact

The BlueBird Polly Pockets were some of my favorite toys when I was younger. Those tiny dolls had such cute miniature sets in their little compacts. Polly Pocket has had a new makeover recently and this time it’s much closer to the BlueBird size. The dolls are quite a bit smaller than other versions Mattel Polly Pockets I’ve seen. The compact is back with lots of tiny accessories. The new dolls are not as small as the BlueBird Polly Pockets, but they come pretty close. I also appreciate all the details.

The set pictured is the Polly Pocket Teeny Boppin’ Concert Compact. It comes with a doll, guitar, working guitar case, microphone on stand, compact, and ring to attach to the compact. The doll’s name Shani. The compact has a set with a piano and drums. I noticed that parts of Shani are rubbery, like the legs and head, and some parts are hard plastic. It seemed like BlueBird sets were painted plastic, but a lot of the new ones have stickers (like on the guitar and in the compact’s background).

Overall, I think I like the new Polly Pocket dolls quite a bit. I picked up a few more not too long ago and I’ll try to post them soon. There are a few larger play sets, but I think I am going to stick to the really tiny compacts.

On another note, I’m still working on patterns and new outfits, mostly for Minifee and Momoko. Things are slow going with small kiddos in the house.

What Fits Petite Blythe (LPS)?

August 10, 2015 Megann Zabel

Pictured above is a darling Petite Blythe (Littlest Pet Shop version).  I've tried on a few of my small doll items to see what will fit her.  In the picture above, she is wearing an Amelia Thimble nightgown.  The length of the nightgown and sleeves are a little long for the doll, but it still looks quite cute on her. While quite a few people don't seem to like the Littlest Pet Shop (LPS) Blythe compared to the Petite Blythe, I actually prefer one important aspect of the LPS Blythe -- the shoes!  Unlike Petite Blythe, the LPS Blythe have shoes that come off the dolls and I love exchanging the shoes.  Pictured below are some Polly Pocket shoes and accessories I've paired with a LPS Blythe.

Personally, I try to avoid some of the backless pumps from Polly Pocket because they look a little too big on the LPS Blythe.  Many of the other Polly Pocket accessories go great with LPS Blythe too.
